Jim Bridenstine for Congress

We must repeal the largest tax increase in history!

Our fiscal crisis is a result of out-of-control federal spending, not insufficient federal taxes.I do not support any increase in the tax burden beyond what is already being paid, especially at a time when the economy continues to struggle. Tax increases are desired by the Obama Democrats, not conservative Republicans or conservative Oklahoma Democrats.

Lowering Taxes: Repeal, Replace, Overhaul

By: Jim Bridenstine

Our fiscal crisis is a result of out-of-control federal spending, not insufficient federal taxes. I do not support any increase in the tax burden beyond what is already being paid, especially at a time when the economy continues to struggle. Tax increases are desired by the Obama Democrats, not conservative Republicans or conservative Oklahoma Democrats.

My first objective as your Congressman will be to repeal the largest tax increase in history that is to automatically take place on January 1st, 2013. If that increase is allowed to stand, the average tax burden for Oklahoma families in the First District will increase by $3,500. This tax increase will cripple our economy and must be repealed.

My second objective is to work with our next President, Mitt Romney, in lowering tax rates, broadening the base, and injecting more fairness into the current tax code.

My third objective is a complete overhaul of our tax system. There are numerous plans that I could support. Steve Forbes has promoted a plan for a low rate, flat tax on income. Senators Inhofe and Coburn sponsor the Fair Tax, which eliminates the IRS as well as taxes on income, payroll, business, capital gains, dividends, interest, and the death tax. These taxes would be replaced by a low flat tax rate on consumption with protections for individuals and families with lower incomes.

Our current tax system limits productivity, punishes achievement and excessively burdens people and businesses with compliance costs.

While I am for an overhaul of the tax system, I am not for raising taxes on anybody. Tax increases are a policy of the Obama Democrats.

Please share this with your friends.  I’m asking for your vote on November 6.

Bridenstine Earns Support from Oklahoma Energy Leaders

(Tulsa, OK 10/19/12) Republican Congressional Nominee Jim Bridenstine has earned support from the political action committees (PACs) of many leading energy companies headquartered in Oklahoma or having a major presence within the State. PACs associated with Williams, Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P., WPX Energy, ConocoPhillips, Phillips 66, Samson Investment Company, Chesapeake Energy Corporation and Devon Energy Corporation have all chosen to support Bridenstine’s campaign to become the next Congressman representing Oklahoma’s 1st District.

“The regulatory agenda being advanced by President Obama and his liberal supporters in Congress is having a crippling effect on efforts to move our country toward energy independence,” said Bridenstine. “Instead of expanding domestic energy production and distribution, which would create good paying jobs both in Oklahoma and throughout our nation, this administration continues to block drilling on public lands, block the Keystone Pipeline, misallocate tax dollars to non-viable energy sources, threaten tax increases on domestic energy producers, and demonize oil, gas, and coal. It’s time for a new direction and energy independence.”

“Jim has a sincere interest in learning more about Oklahoma’s energy producers and transportation infrastructure companies,” said Magellan CEO Mike Mears. “He believes in energy independence and understands our nation needs more pipelines to accommodate the increased production of domestic energy.”

LCDR Jim Bridenstine is a veteran combat pilot who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and still flies counter-drug missions in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He is the Republican Nominee for Oklahoma’s First Congressional District. Bridenstine is the former Executive Director of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and holds a triple major from Rice University and an MBA from Cornell University. He is also a graduate of Jenks High School.

Tulsa Beacon urges:
“Vote For Lt. Cmdr. Bridenstine”

(From the Tulsa Beacon, 10/11/12)

Voters in the First District have an easy choice on Nov. 6 as they select a new congressman.

Republican Jim Bridenstine faces Democrat John Olson and Independent Craig Allen in the race to replace John Sullivan.

Just like most of the people in the First District, Lt. Cmdr. Bridenstine is pro-life. He will fight to stop the American holocaust and end abortion.

Like most people in the First District, Jim Bridenstine wants America to stop printing money and to get back to a balanced budget. Bridenstine, with a degree in economics, will cut spending and work for a smaller and more efficient federal government.

Just like most people in the First District, Jim Bridenstine wants to repeal Obamacare and its blatant intrusion into the lives of Oklahomans.

Like most people in the First District, Bridenstine believes that Barack Obama’s foreign policies have failed and we need a new president. Bridenstine, with a career in the military, knows the importance of strong support for our fighting men.

Just like most people in the First District, Bridenstine understands that marriage is between one man and one woman.

Jim Bridenstine is serious about his Christian faith and unashamed to admit that his faith guides his decisions.

Olson, who also served in the military, is the opposite on most of these issues. He supports re-election of the president, implementation of Obamacare and abortion.

The choice is clear.

Lt. Cmdr. Jim Bridenstine will represent the First District in a way that represents our conservative values.

The Tulsa Beacon endorses Lt. Cmdr. Jim Bridenstine for the First District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Bridenstine Receives Endorsement From NFIB

Bridenstine Receives Endorsement from Small Business Advocate the National Federation of Independent Business
(NFIB)

(Tulsa, OK 10/1/12) The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has endorsed OK-D1 Republican Congressional nominee LCDR Jim Bridenstine. “Small businesses are the engine of our economy and across the country small business owners are seeking out elected representatives that will stand up and be leaders in Congress” said Lisa Goeas, NFIB Vice President, Political and Grassroots. “We believe Jim Bridenstine will not only be a strong advocate for small businesses in the 1st District of Oklahoma, but will be a leader in Washington D.C. working to reduce the burdensome regulatory environment that is increasing costs for small businesses and all Americans. NFIB is proud to endorse Jim Bridenstine.”

When asked about the importance of the NFIB endorsement Bridenstine said, “An endorsement from such a well respected small business advocate is an honor. Many of my supporters are small business owners and they know that once in Washington D.C. I will work tirelessly on their behalf to reduce taxes and eliminate big government programs like Obamacare that threaten their livelihoods.”

Congressional Candidate LCDR Jim Bridenstine Issues Statement on Supreme Court Ruling

The growth and intrusiveness of the federal government was further advanced by
this morning’s Supreme Court decision to uphold ObamaCare. This ruling
threatens our freedom and represents a massive new tax upon the American people.
ObamaCare will further inhibit economic recovery and jeopardize preservation of the
conservative values upon which our nation was founded. ObamaCare must be repealed in
its entirety. Here are some of the main problems with ObamaCare:

1. The federal government will have the authority to insert itself into the doctor patient
relationship.

2. The Government will have the power to allocate healthcare resources based upon
patient age and other considerations.

3. Under ObamaCare the federal government will fund abortions by directly
appropriating funds to state high risk pools, devaluing human life.

4. An army of 16,500 IRS agents will be hired to administer and enforce ObamaCare.

5. Depending on political favoritism, some companies will be given waivers from
ObamaCare requirements and others will not. Equal application of the law will
not occur within ObamaCare.

6. The Congressional Budget Office’s ObamaCare cost estimate projections stop at
ten years, but ObamaCare costs increase dramatically after that time.

7. Businesses are more hesitant to invest capital or hire, because of continuing
uncertainty about the costs of ObamaCare in terms of both direct expense and
regulatory burden.

8. ObamaCare will increase taxes and the cost of health insurance and healthcare for
everyone.

There are more competitive and cost-effective solutions available to address
healthcare insurance for people who are not already covered, or choose not be covered.
These plans do not involve the heavy-handed, intrusive federal role President Obama and
Democrats in Congress have instituted through ObamaCare.

By ruling as it did today, the Supreme Court has given the decision on ObamaCare
back to Congress and the people. Repeal now depends upon the voters reshaping the
executive and legislative branches of the federal government by electing a Republican
president, securing a filibuster-proof Republican/conservative majority in the Senate and
maintaining or growing the Republican majority in the House of Representatives which
has already voted to repeal ObamaCare.

ObamaCare must be repealed, not amended. It cannot be fixed. As your
Congressman, I will make total repeal of ObamaCare a top priority.

The Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium Releases Official Statement Regarding LCDR Jim Bridenstine’s Service as Executive Director

Official statement contradicts negative accusations issued by John Sullivan

(Tulsa, OK 6/12/12) The Tulsa Air and Space Museum and Planetarium (TASM) released its official statement in regards to Congressional Candidate LCDR Jim Bridenstine’s service to the museum as Executive Director, noting that both attendance and visibility grew during his tenure.

Bridenstine’s record at TASM has come under fire by his opponent John Sullivan on multiple occasions.  The Sullivan campaign first claimed that Bridenstine was fired from the museum through a coordinated whisper-campaign spread throughout the First Congressional District. Then, Congressman Sullivan went on to personally attack Bridenstine in a live debate on KFAQ saying that attendance had decreased during Bridenstine’s employment. “Both statements are simply untrue,” said Bridenstine, “I have always been proud of what was accomplished at TASM during my time there. Attendance grew and because of our efforts the museum received the local and national attention an institution of its caliber deserves.”

When asked why he believes Congressman Sullivan seems determined to portray his time at TASM as less than honorable, Bridenstine said “With such a short list of accomplishments during his time in Congress he has no choice but to try and convince voters why they shouldn’t vote for me, as opposed to why they should vote for him. At this point, I believe he will say and do anything to keep his job.”

TULSA AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The Tulsa Air and Space Museum is neither for nor against any candidate in any election. Certain statements have been made by others outside of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum and the Tulsa Air and Space Museum wishes to clarify certain facts: Jim Bridenstine was employed at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum as its Executive Director from December 2008 through August 20, 2010. While at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum, Jim Bridenstine developed the QuikTrip Air and Rocket Racing Show and the Land the Shuttle Campaign, both of which garnered tremendous visibility for the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. While Mr. Bridenstine was executive director attendance increased at the museum. In August 2010 Mr. Bridenstine voluntarily resigned from his position as Executive Director at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum in order to follow his orders in the Navy Reserves. Mr. Bridenstine was not terminated from the Tulsa Air and Space Museum.
