2012An Automated Phone Poll Conducted by the Bridenstine Campaign Indicates the First District Congressional Race Is Currently A Dead Heat.
Tulsa, OK, May 23, 2012: The Jim Bridenstine campaign conducted an automated-phone poll on the evening of Thursday, May 17, 2012. Results of the poll indicate that the First District Congressional race between Lt. Commander Jim Bridenstine of Tulsa, and Congressman John Sullivan, also of Tulsa, is a statistical dead heat.
The survey was completed by 647 randomly selected, very likely First District voters, yielding a margin of error of 3.79%. The breakdown by candidate was as follows:
- John Sullivan–221 (34.16%)
- Jim Bridenstine–213 (32.92%)
- Undecided 213–(32.92%)
The survey was conducted by J. David Weston, a campaign consultant advising the campaign.
Challenger Pleased With Results
Bridenstine, who is currently a Lt. Commander in the Naval Reserves, was upbeat about the survey results. “We’ve assembled a great team and we’re excited about the momentum that we have with less than five weeks to go. Having caught him so early, it appears our message of conservative leadership is resonating.”
The campaign believes that the First District race may join the growing list of primaries nationwide, like Indiana and Nebraska, where challengers are defeating incumbents, or more established candidates.

2012Restoring America Project (RAP) Super PAC has announced its endorsement of Jim Bridenstine for United States Congress, in Oklahoma’s 1st District.
“With his United States Navy background of flying F-18 Fighter jets and his dedication to our nation, we at Restoring America Project are very proud to lend our support to this great American for Congress,” said Ken Crow (RAP PAC Vice-President and Co-Founder).
Crow continued, “It really wasn’t hard deciding who we would back in this key primary race. On the one hand you have the incumbent, John Sullivan, who– as a Republican member of Congress– aided and abetted President Obama in driving up our national debt to unheard-of heights. That is, when he bothered to vote at all.”
From February 2002 to April 2012, Sullivan missed 665 of 7534 recorded or roll call votes, which is 9.0%– compare that to the average, 2.4%. He has also periodically missed 60% of his votes. That makes him the second-worst among his colleagues in voting attendance. Crow went on to say, “It’s RINOs like Congressman Sullivan who have been some of the top culprits behind our nation’s problems with its checkbook. These people are not capable of saying ‘no’.
The Tulsa Beacon’s endorsement of Jim Bridenstine urged “all citizens of good conscience to support him with financial donations, offers to volunteer and their vote in the upcoming GOP primary.”
He has vowed to oppose any legislation that adds to the national debt. In fact, he has said that he would urge his fellow congressmen to pass a constitutional amendment requiring a supermajority to raise taxes. Bridenstine also supports term limits.
Said Crow, “When he decided to run for Congress, I have to confess, we were thrilled. Not only is Bridenstine dedicated and intelligent, but he’s owned livestock and real estate businesses, too. He truly understands how important the free-market system is to the prosperity of our country as a whole. Plus, his military experience earned him the ‘all important’ ingredients of honor and integrity. We only regret that we haven’t found a couple hundred more just like him to send to Washington.”
RAP PAC’s staff includes several important Tea Party leaders, including president Tim Selaty, Sr. and chief financial officer Tim Selaty, Jr., co-founders of the Tea Party Tribune; Ken Crow, co-founder of the Tea Party of America; chief operating officer Richard Disney; spokes-person Kevin Jackson, a Fox News contributor; and Becca Lower, director of social multimedia relations.
